'A Ruana is a project of participatory architecture that transformed the area of II Traversa Mercato, in the heart of Ercolano, from a neglected place to a space of aggregation.
Thanks to the Rotary Ercolano Centenario and Rotart Ercolano and the collaboration with MAV - Museo Archeologico Virtuale, Variabile K undertook an action of community consultation, involving actively the community in surveys and interactive signages to best comprehend the needs and requests for the area.
The following phase has seen the design and auto-construction of benches and planters, then allocated in the area.
Business owners and young people demonstrated an active involvement, taking care of the space and transforming it into an animated gathering point.
