The Connecting Code project, which won the Creative Living Lab V competitive bid from the Ministry of Culture's General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity, will be presented on 20 September. This project has led to the creation of a widespread work of art in Ercolano, designed by the artist duo Bianco-Valente.

The artwork is the result of a participatory process that actively involved the community of Ercolano, from children in various neighbourhoods to the town's centre. The aim of Connecting Code was to combine art and urban regeneration through the common thread of participation, creating site-specific artistic interventions that are a reflection of the local identity and spirit of the territory. Thanks to the collaboration of local residents and their participation in numerous workshops organised with the artists, unique works were created, all united by the element of the QR code. When scanned with a mobile phone, the QR codes allow users to listen to audio and video testimonies from the citizens of Ercolano, creating an emotional and collective map of the town.

On 20 September at 18:00, the project will be presented in the Virtual Archaeological Museum. Following the presentation, the artists will lead participants on a walk through the three sites where the artworks are installed, offering the opportunity to discover the installations and engage in discussions about art, culture and urban regeneration.

The project is promoted by the Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture (Creative Living Lab - Edition 5)
